Dedicated to preserving and protecting the lake environment for all.

The Clean Boats Clean Water program is a vital part of protecting Matthews Lake from invasive species. Many invasive plants and animals, such as Eurasian watermilfoil or zebra mussels, spread from lake to lake by hitching a ride on boats, trailers, or fishing gear. Our I-LIDS system works to inspect watercraft, educate boaters, and encourage simple prevention steps—like removing weeds, draining water, and drying equipment before launching. These small actions make a big difference in keeping harmful species out, preserving the lake’s natural balance, and ensuring Matthews Lake stays clean, healthy, and enjoyable for everyone.
